DiDA is a suite qualification consisting of a number of different units: Using ICT (compulsory), Multimedia, Graphics and ICT in Enterprise. Each unit is worth one GCSE. The qualification is dependant on how many units are completed. At the moment one can get an Award (AiDA), a Certificate (CiDA) or a Diploma (DiDA). Multimedia skills that teachers will need to deliver Unit D202.   Delegates will be guided through each stage of the coursework preparation culminating in the final e-portfolio which will be based on a sample Summative Project Brief.

4th October, 2005 - Planning & Managing Project
More than 1000 schools in England have started to teach the new DIDA course this year and a further 1000 are scheduled to begin in September 2006. This is an innovative course that, at present, covers the four GCSEs listed above and in September 2006 two more GCSEs will be added i.e. Digital Video & Sound Production; Digital Content Distribution.
 
The three Bristol CLCs have put together a teacher training programme which will be delivered at CLC3, City Learning Centre at the Whitefield Fishponds school site. We have been working closely with EdExcel over the past few months and have designed the five days’ training to cover the range of

5th December, 2005      -Filming, storyboarding and editing          
6th December, 2005      E-portfolios             

Workshops will cover use of the following software packages: Inspiration; Dreamweaver;  Movie Maker; Pinnacle; iMovie; Fireworks; Photoshop; iPhoto; PhotoStory3; Audacity; Quick Time Pro; Flash; Hot Potatoes.
